Q: I need to extend the joystick shaft on my Hori Real Arcade Pro. 4 Kai Arcade Controller for PS3/PS4 that comes with the Hayabusa components. I read the support pages for Extended Sanwa JLF Hollow Joystick Shaft, but it does not state if this will work as a shaft replacement. Will you be able to clarify this for me?
A: In many cases, JLF and Hayabusa parts are interchangeable with only a few exceptions. It is recommended to apply a small amount of Shin-etsu lube to the lower portion of the shaft or inside the spring base plate, as the fit is tight and will require a small amount of force. The extended shaft acts as a replacement to the shaft you have now for your Hayabusa. In order to replace your shaft, carefully remove the balltop and the e-clip as the spring, actuator, spring base, washer and pivot are held together due to the e-clip. The pivot and balltop will go back topside of the panel and the rest below in order they were removed. If you need additional assistance, please let me know. PS- your plastic shaft cover will not cover the entire shaft and you will most likely need to also pick up some dust washers for without covers.
