Q: "I am thinking of replacing the Sanwa JLF with 5 pins in my Qanba Q3 to a Seimitsu LS-32-01. Will need some of your technical help before making the order.
1) Is the Seimitsu LS-32-01 the correct model for this replacement?
2) Will it be a plug n play replacement using the 5 pin wire harness?
3) Will I also need the Seimitsu Flat Mount Plate for this replacement?
Your advise is very much appreciated.
Best regards,
A: On the Shoryuken Forums some time ago, IIx8000, a rep from Qanba responded to a similar question. The short answer is the LS-32-01 fits without a mounting plate due to the special holes on the top plate of the Qanba. You may need to flip the jst cable harness to connect the Seimitsu. Below is the conversation:
Q: "I read through the forum but I never got a straight answer. Is the Qanba Q4 compatible with the seimitsu 56/58? if not which mounting plate is ?"
A "I just checked the PDF from seimitsu website.
our q2/q3/q4 metal plate fit to fixed LS32(LS32-01,LS-32-02,LS-32) and LS-40(LS-40,LS-40-01),when you fix Seimitsu joystick,we needn't (didn't need) their mounting plate, our metal plate will be their mounting plate, but the screw hole of LS-56 and LS-58 plastic base seat difference LS-32 and LS-40,so they don't suitable our metal plate, they couldn't fix for Q4.
please see their PDF:

we have tested,LS-32(LS-32-01,LS-32-02),LS-40(LS-40-01) work nice for fighting games, but others seimitsu joystick we found them couldn't suitable fighting games.
lots of players like LS-32-01 or LS-32-02,because they easy fit replacing SANWA JLF-TP-8YT-SK stick , and LS-32 series work nice for fighting games."
