Since launching FA Plexworks, we've seen all kinds of Fightstick designs—complex, elegant, whimsical, and wonderfully quirky. But one trend stands out: many submissions feature a single image—like a favorite wallpaper, drawing, or photo.
And that makes perfect sense. Not everyone has the time or tools to create a full custom design—but plenty have that one special image they’d love to showcase, whether it’s a beloved character, a scene from a favorite anime or film, or even a meaningful photo.
We wanted to make that easier to accomplish for anyone. So we built a tool that lets more players bring those images to your arcade stick—through a simple, intuitive interface that works on desktop, tablet, or phone.
A Simple Designer App
To help you choose between Mini.FS Studio and our traditional Photoshop templates, let’s look at this app’s features and who it’s designed for.
- You have a favorite theme and found an artwork that would look great on a Fightstick or Flatbox, but you don’t have the time—or interest—to learn a graphics program like GIMP, Photopea, or Photoshop.
- You do not own a desktop PC or laptop
- A tablet or phone is your main way to get online
- You currently do not have the financial resources to hire a fightstick artist
Let’s be clear: Mini.FS Studio isn’t a replacement for the skill and creativity of a dedicated Fightstick artist. But it potentially does make getting a custom Fightstick artwork printed and cut more accessible—giving more people the chance to personalize their model quickly and easily, even without design experience.
You'll find that working within Mini.FS tool can take less than 5 minutes to produce a print ready output. This allows you to experiment with different images to discover which works best with the layout.
Getting Started
Fightstick models that are compatible with the app will have a special badge as shown here. We plan to add more models over time until all of them are available in Mini.FS Studio.
Upon clicking the link to enter the product, scroll down until you find a button to enter Mini.MS Studio. This is typically the last option on the option list, below the product photo.
After pressing the "Try the Free Mini.FS App" button you'll visit our Submission Helper. This area provides an overview of the app, some tips and notice about privacy. If you do not want to see this message on your next visit, click "Don't show again". You won't see this again unless you clear your browser cookies, or use a different device.
Downloading Internet Images to Mobile
If a phone or tablet is your only device, you can visit sites that offer dedicated hi-resolution wallpaper artwork, or other sources related to the theme you're looking to place onto your Fightstick. Those sites may allow you to download directly to your phone. Here's how that may look on the iPhone:
| Sites that support phone downloads will prompt you to view or download. | If you choose "download", an blue icon will appear next to the URL on your phone. |
Click the blue icon to display site options, then click "Downloads." |
This image is now in your Downloads folder. |
Downloading to your Photo Library
Other sites may not provide a direct link to download the image, but you may still have an opportunity to download the image to your Photo Library.
| Tap and hold on the image you found and want to keep on your phone. A number of options will appear. You can select "Save to Photos." | In Photos, you can later find the photo in your camera roll, or if saved more recently, under "Saved Today." |
This approach may differ slightly on an Android phone.
Plexworks Mini.FS Studio Environment
Uploads And Privacy
The next screen is where you add your artwork that will be placed into Mini.FS Studio. It's important to know how this works.
Mini.FS Studio is a client-based app, meaning your artwork stays on your device—desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone. Your privacy and security greatly matter to us. We can’t see your images, and we don’t receive your submission until you add it to your cart and check out.
We can’t see what you add to the Studio. Try different images—you might find one that looks even better in the template.
File Formats That We Accept
Mini.FS Studio accepts the following formats:
- PNG
- JPG (JPEG)
- TIF (TIFF)
- WebP
These files are commonly found online. Additonally, images on your phone’s Photo Library will work. For other files on your device, check the file extension—usually .JPG, .JPEG, or .PNG for example —to confirm the format. If your file format does not match the formats we suport, then the file won't be selectable.
Uploading Images from Your Mobile Device
While we can't cover every phone, most phones will present you with options when you tap the "Add" Icon.
On the iPhone, your options are to choose a image fom your Photo Library, take a photo, or choose a file from your phone.
Choose File
If your image is located on your iPhone but not in the Photo Library, then tap "Choose File". Doing this will open a number of locations on your phone where the file resides, such as "Downloads", "On My iPhone" or cloud services such as iCloud Drive or Google Drive. Choose which one has your file. Once the file is chosen, the image will appear, ready to move to the studio.
| Locations on your device or Cloud Drives | Once a file is chosen, it is ready to enter the studio. |
Entering the Studio
Some Important Notes Before You Start
Leaving the main page or refreshing your browser will exit you from the app, thus losing you work. If you intend to have the artwork you designed in Mini.FS Studio printed, be sure to first press "Publish", then click or tap "Add to Cart".
The next screen shows Mini.FS Studio’s canvas with the Fightstick template, similar to our Photoshop versions.
If you resize your window, the canvas and your artwork will scale with it, keeping the correct proportions
Low Resolution Image Warning
The studio displays the canvas at 300 DPI, matching our print quality.
You may see a 'Low Resolution Detected' warning upon entering the Studio. If your image is small (less than 15% of the canvas), it may not have as much pixel density to accomodate the printer's 300dpi base resolution. This means it could appear blurry or pixelated when scaled to fit the Fightstick layout. You can either replace the image or keep using it.

Replace Image
If you decide that the image currently in the Studio is not to you liking, you can click the "Replace Image" button to send a new image into the Studio's canvas. If you have chosen overlays or layout options, those will remain in place.
Product Options
Clicking or tapping the "Product Options" button will present a list of options related to the material choice, button insert cut, overall layout (8 button, First 6 button, etc), and more. On desktop, you can scroll using your mouse wheel to see and choose each option under their topics.
Hovering over each option will expand the option thumbnail. In the case of holographic paper choices, you can preview the simulated holographic pattern animation by hoverning over the material option.
Layout and Overlay Options
In this option list, you will find layout elements that can be turned on or off. For example, perhaps you do not want the OLED screen cut on your Haute42 R16, or the bottom middle screw for your Qanba Obsidian.
Overlays are additional labels that you can add to your print. This may include console button labels, control panel labels, or even the brand logo.
Product and Layout/Overlay Options On Mobile Devices
On your phone, click "Actions", then "Configure Options". The list will use the entire screen, making it easier to see, scroll and tap your option choices. On tihs screen, Product and Layout/Overlay options are presented in their own tabs.

| Tap "Layout/Overlays" options tab | When finished, swipe to bottom and tap "Done." |
Landscape Mode on Phone
We understand that working within Mini.FS Studio on mobile's "Portrait Mode" isn't always ideal. Rotate your phone, and the canvas enlarges to show more content.
The toolbar has less vertical space and thus some of the buttons are cut off. You will see a small up or down arrow indicating there is more content . Simply tap and drag up or down to view the rest of the toolbar's functions.
Tap the expand icon to temporarily hide the header and menu for even more vertical space. To return the header, simply tap the compress icon
.
You can also minimize the toolbar by tapping the small arrow next to "Tools". It will face the opposite direction when compressed.
Expand it by tapping the arrow again.
Exiting Mini FS.Studio
If you choose to leave Mini.FS Studio before finishing, click the Exit button located at the top right of the app. If you've added any overlays to your artwork, the app will warn you about unsaved changes and ask you to confirm before exiting.

All Done? Let's Publish!
When you are finised in Mini.FS Studio, you can now add your artwork into the shopping cart. To do this, press the "Publish" button .
When pressed, Mini.FS Studio will close. Any options you had selected in the app will also appear selected in the main page.

Specific options, such as "Paper type" can be adjusted outside of Mini.FS Studio.

It's important to complete this step before leaving the page. If you navigate away or reload before the artwork from Mini.FS Studio is added to your cart, it will be lost and you’ll need to start over.

We'd Love Your Feedback
We want Mini.FS Studio to cater to your needs, and grow as a valuable tool for those best suited to use it. In the app, you'll find a feedback icon located towards the bottom right of your screen.
Clicking this icon opens a detailed feedback form. Most of the questions are optional, so you can share as much or as little as you want. Our team reviews all submissions—technical bugs are fixed as soon as possible, and popular feature requests are added to our development roadmap. The form works on both desktop and mobile.
Thanks for Your Support
Mini.FS Studio isn’t meant to replace powerful design tools like GIMP or Photoshop. That said, based on our experience with most FA Plexworks users (though not all), those tools are typically used just to position and resize artwork to fit the Fightstick layout.
This is our first time developing an app like Mini.FS Studio. While we have our own vision for how it should look and feel, we know we can’t fully predict how Fightstick owners like you will use it—or what features you’ll expect from an artwork editing tool.
That’s why I want to personally thank you for supporting FA Plexworks over the years. Your support has made it possible for us to invest in tools like Mini.FS Studio, and we’re excited to hear your feedback on how we can keep improving it.
